The VN program at UEI College's Chula Vista location combines theory and hands-on clinical experience, preparing graduates to successfully pass the NCLEX-PN® licensing examination and begin work as an entry-level nurse in hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation units, assisted living, home care, clinics, and doctors' offices.

Students will learn how to:
Help physicians in diagnosis and therapy, and assist the health team in planning, implementing, and evaluating care	Take temperatures, pulse, respirations, and blood pressures, keep medical records, change dressings, assist patients with personal hygiene, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Watch for changes in conditions, know what these changes could mean, and take appropriate actions	Provide direct patient care and function as a member of the healthcare team
Give prescribed medications and injections	Supervise unlicensed personnel
